Arnold, a baker’s dog

in Arnold the dachshund

Our 10-month-old puppy, Arnold, decided to stand at my feet while I kneaded those awful bagels . . . and you can see what happened as a result. He generally stands at my feet anytime he hears chopping happening, and he’s quite good about rushing to gather up any bits that fly onto the floor due to my less-than-professional chopping skills. I always have to be super-vigilant when chopping onions because they’re poisonous to dogs, but in general I don’t mind him cleaning up after me when I’m in the kitchen.

He’d never gotten this covered in flour before, though:

I had to wipe him down from nose to tail!
